Paintings

Roy Holding

Roy is a highly accomplished water-colourist with over 45 years experience, and continues to explore other styles of painting. Developments within his work include use of acrylics, oils and more recently collage effects using handmade paper and natural fibre. He continues to be inspired by rural landscapes and architectural interest such as those found in remote areas of Wales and Scotland. More recent influences are the rustic villages and towns found in France and  Italy

Giclee prints of Roys work are available  exclusively through Purple Poppy Gallery.

Sue Wookey     Galley Hill Art

My paintings are inspired by the mysterious prehistory of Britain and the ancient and multi-layered symbols which appear throughout world cultures. My interest in symbolism has become an internal symbolism that I can only really express in paint and I interpret them in watercolour with a touch of gouache and ink. Personally printed signed limited edition Giclee prints are available of all my work and these can be ordered online. My hope is that visitors to Galley Hill Art will draw their own inspiration and meaning from the paintings and enjoy their journey through the Gallery.

Textile Art

Myra Hutton – Textile Artist

My work generally consists of densely textured layers exploring colour and texture through a fusion of hand dyed fabrics, hand made felt with embellishments of thread, wire, beads and feathers.  I create rich landscapes, sunsets and seascapes using wool and silk fibres in a ‘painterly ‘ way, creating blocks of vibrant colour before felting, blending and shading as I go. I then build up the layers with textured embellishment using the sewing machine as a drawing tool to bring the picture alive.

My inspiration comes from my natural surroundings and experiences drawing on the hues, shapes and textures of land, sea and air with the influences of the elements.

Photography

Trevor Hutton

Although my work may appear to be traditional in style, in fact it is created from digital sources. Combining location and still life photography with digital painting, I produce ‘mixed media’ collages. My current interest is in ancient artefacts, architecture and motifs gathered during recent visits to the Mediterranean & Aegean world. I am also influenced by the Suffolk coast.

My work is all presented as high quality art prints in low limited editions. Because the work is digitally mastered it is often possible to produce prints in various sizes and colour themes.
