Having mastered skills in many creative forms, Allan first started carving his birds when his wife decided she wanted a 'decoy' duck.
Allan carves his intricate birds from a sustainable source of timber. Having studied in detail from nature, Allans birds, ducks and waders are painted to simulate the colour and texture of feathers.

Jill Varone
Jill Varone has recently had work accepted by the Society of Women Artists and exhibited in London’s Mall Galleries. ‘I work mainly in mixed media as texture plays an important role in my work often using collage and gesso to create the surface effects. Pastel however remains a firm favourite for the local woodland scenes I love to paint.
The coastal scenes of Italy often feature in my work as I find the vibrant colours just irresistible. A selection of giclee prints and cards, from my original work will be available at the Christmas Show, alongside framed acrylic paintings on canvas with an Italian theme.
